The First Glimpse of Your Wedding Day: Discover Our New Invitation Collection

Laser-cut lace wedding invitation with purple calligraphy and pearl heart detail

There is something rather special about opening a wedding invitation. Before the flowers have been chosen, before the music begins and before anyone has seen the dress, those few carefully considered details offer guests their first glimpse of the celebration to come.

That is why we are delighted to introduce a new wedding invitation service at Gail’s Wedding Emporium. We have chosen a beautiful range of Janice Paper wedding invitations, filled with elegant details, tactile finishes and thoughtful touches that can help set the tone for your day from the very beginning.

Whether you are planning a romantic celebration, a timeless gathering or something a little more modern, your stationery can be part of the story.

Invitations that say something about you

Your wedding invitation does more than share the date and venue. It gives your guests a feeling for the occasion.

The colours, shapes, textures and small finishing touches can all hint at the atmosphere you are creating. Perhaps you are drawn to soft ivory and delicate floral details. Maybe you have chosen rich emerald green, lavender or another colour that feels personal to you. Or perhaps you would like your stationery to reflect the style of your venue, your flowers or even details from your wedding dress.

The Janice Paper collection offers plenty of inspiration, from intricate laser-cut designs to invitations finished with ribbons, bows and elegant embellishments. These details can make an invitation feel considered and memorable without needing to be overdone.

The beauty of laser-cut details

Laser-cut stationery is particularly lovely for couples who appreciate a little extra detail. Intricate patterns can create a lace-like effect, framing the invitation and allowing glimpses of the wording or inner card beneath.

Floral patterns, scrollwork and symmetrical designs each bring a different feeling. A floral edge may suit a garden wedding, while a more ornate pattern can feel right for a formal celebration. Gatefold styles can add a sense of occasion as the invitation is opened, revealing the details inside.

There is also a lovely connection between laser-cut stationery and bridalwear. Just as lace, embroidery and appliqué can add depth to a gown, a carefully cut invitation can create texture and interest before the day has even arrived.

Some of the designs in our collection feature delicate bows and ribbons to complete the look. These can introduce a chosen colour in a subtle way, whether that is a soft pastel, a richer jewel shade or a classic neutral.

Vellum, velvet and acrylic finishes

Alongside laser-cut invitations, the collection includes a variety of beautiful materials and finishes to explore.

Vellum offers a soft, translucent layer that can be used to create a gentle sense of reveal. It is light and elegant, and works beautifully when placed over printed wording, floral details or a simple monogram.

Velvet brings a richer, more tactile feel. A velvet pocket or cover can make an invitation feel wonderfully luxurious and well suited to an evening reception, winter wedding or opulent venue.

Acrylic offers a more contemporary look. Its clean, modern appearance can be paired with elegant lettering and carefully chosen details for couples who want stationery that feels fresh and distinctive.

These materials can be beautiful individually, or used alongside other elements such as laser-cut layers, ribbons and bows. The important thing is choosing a combination that feels like you and works with the wider style of your wedding.

Newly added invitation designs

Alongside the original invitation styles already featured here, we have now added a few more approved designs to the collection for couples who would like to explore different finishes in person.

The laser-cut portfolio includes LFI003, a beautifully detailed design with a romantic feel. We have also added acrylic portfolio samples showing DACR13 and DACR18, along with gold mirror acrylic styles including DACR19 and MACR03. Each one offers a slightly different look, from soft and decorative to modern and striking, making it easier to compare styles and see what feels right for your day.

Carrying your colours through your wedding

Many couples spend time choosing a colour palette for their wedding, from the bridesmaids’ dresses and flowers to the table styling and finishing touches. Invitations can be the first place those colours appear.

A green ribbon may be echoed in your bouquets or foliage. Lavender lettering might tie in with your flowers, accessories or venue styling. Ivory card and soft metallic details can create a timeless foundation that works beautifully with many different colour schemes.

This does not mean every single element needs to match exactly. Often, a repeated colour or small shared detail is enough to make everything feel connected. Your invitation can provide the starting point, helping you build a sense of continuity from the first announcement through to the wedding day itself.

The same idea can be carried through other stationery, too. Depending on the design you choose, you may wish to consider matching pieces such as response cards, place cards or menus. When your guests see those details again at the reception, it creates a lovely sense of connection.

Personal guidance in our Ripon boutique

Choosing invitations online can sometimes feel difficult. Colours may look different on screen, and it is not always easy to judge the texture or detail of a design from a photograph.

At Gail’s Wedding Emporium, you can browse the collection in person and take your time looking at the different styles. Being able to see the laser-cut details, feel the materials and compare colours can make the decision much easier.

We can also offer personal guidance as you consider how your invitations might sit alongside your wedding dress, accessories and wider plans. If you have already chosen your gown, bringing along a photograph or details of your styling can help you explore ideas that feel cohesive. If you are still looking for your dress, your stationery may even help you begin to define the atmosphere you would like for your day.

Our boutique is about more than finding one item. It is a place to talk through ideas, look at possibilities and make decisions that feel right for you. You can explore our wedding and formalwear services, including bridal fittings, alterations and wedding planning consultations, or contact us if you would like to ask a question before visiting.

A thoughtful beginning to your celebration

Your wedding day will be made up of hundreds of details, both large and small. The invitations are among the first that your guests will see, making them a lovely opportunity to begin sharing your plans.

A beautifully finished invitation does not need to be loud to make an impression. It may be the quiet elegance of a vellum layer, the softness of velvet, the clarity of acrylic or the intricate pattern of a laser-cut design. It may be a ribbon in a meaningful colour or a personalised finish that makes the invitation feel unmistakably yours.

Our new Janice Paper collection has been chosen with those possibilities in mind. It gives couples the chance to explore different styles, textures and details while receiving the friendly, personal guidance that is at the heart of Gail’s Wedding Emporium.

If you are beginning to think about your wedding stationery, we would love to welcome you to the boutique in Ripon. Come and browse the collection, talk through your ideas and discover the invitation that gives your guests their first glimpse of your wedding day.
